Leadership Inspiration Awards

I truly think that each and every student has done an excellent job portraying what leadership means to him/her. Through these leadership blogs, I am able to learn more about each individual’s personality and what qualities make them unique and strong leaders.

There were a few students whose blogs stood out to me, so I would like to give them a shout out!

Congratulations to: Corie Kennedy, Amy Belgum, Sarah Allen, and Susanna Wiggins. Each of you really showed your personality and inspired me to take on a different perspective of how I view leadership (and not to mention had super cute & creative blogs).

COURAGE: After reading Corie’s “About Me” section on her blog titled “Finding Corie”, I felt immediately like I knew her better. She was able to get personal about her mother and how the struggles she has faced has made her into the leader she is today. She used the example her mother left behind to push through and continue her education, despite not knowing if she would be able to find herself. I am so proud of Corie and deeply inspired by her strength and perseverance not only in the way she leads, but also how she lives her life as well – with positivity, honesty, and courage. You go Corie!

COHERENCE: I love that Amy’s Blog, “Who Runs The Workplace: Young Professional Women” is so confident and bold. It really brings out Amy’s strong desire to lead and maintain a professional yet feminine voice. Her entire blog is themed towards women who are true to themselves and work what they have. Such a fun and well put together blog. Stay fierce Amy!

CRAFTY: I found that Sarah’s blog, “Nature by Nurture”, is similar to mine in that we both value compassion and inspiration when it comes to leadership. She even relates leadership to raising a child when she says, “Similar to a parent raising their child, a great leader hopes to guide and inspire future leaders and never expect anything in return”. Also, her page was very simple yet elegant. The images and sepia tone rose background is very aesthetically pleasing and only adds to the beautiful words in her blogs. Great work Sarah!

CLEVER: Right off the bat, Susanna’s blog titled “Captaining the LeaderShip” drew me in. I found her blog title to be extremely clever and also relevant to the leadership story she shared about her opportunity to plan and produce a wedding and how she had to take charge in what she thought was going to be rocky waters. However, she shared that she overcame her initial fears, and stayed confident. Keep doing you, Susanna!
