Throughout my college years, I have been a part of a number of organizations, both on and off campus. I have been involved in hospitality organizations (MESA, Foodies, and Tribal Gaming Student Association), Sigma Alpha Lambda Honors Society, a student mentoring leadership organization called LEAD, and a student run concert production company named Audio Culture Events.

I did take on leadership roles in multiple of these organizations, but I gained the most leadership experience in MESA, the Meetings and Events Student Association.  I took on the title of Director of Special Events and it was my duty to plan the entire weekend trip for the much anticipated annual trip to LA.  I was able to show me leadership skills by taking on the responsibility of planning the trip for the entire organization, and then marketing the event to students.  During the trip, I had to take charge during the venue tours, lead the students during free time, keep them excited, and solve all last minute headaches that came our way.  It was really neat to get to be the one to put together this event that inspired me to become a Hospitality student just the year before!
